Launched in October 2020, the Bahamas Extended Access Travel Stay (BEATS) program visa allows remote workers and students to live and work or study from any of the country's 16 islands for up to 12 months, with the possibility of renewing twice for a total stay of up to 3 years.

The program doesn't require a minimum income, though applicants must prove they have sufficient income outside the Bahamas and pay a hefty USD 1,000 visa fee. It's important to note that the cost of living is relatively high, comparable to the US and Europe.

Living in the Bahamas offers numerous attractions, including some of the clearest waters in the world, making it a paradise for divers and nature enthusiasts.

The country boasts the world's deepest blue hole and the third-largest barrier reef. Nassau, the capital, is rich in colonial heritage and offers quality accommodations and coworking spaces, making it ideal for remote work.
