Location for Ong Long Beach Phu Quoc

Ong Lang Beach (pictured above) lies to the north of Duong Dong City. It's a relatively long beach with several resorts, but there are also stretches where you can find little or no people during the day. Which is why I enjoy Ong Lang Beach the most.

Depending on which part of the beach you want to visit, there are many ways to get to Ong Lang Beach. The dirt roads down to the beach are pretty rough, so be prepared for a bumpy ride.

Location for Long Beach Phu Quoc

Long Beach is Phu Quoc's busiest beach, which stretches 22kms (13.6 miles) along the west coast from Duong Dong City south past the airport.

There are many beach clubs, resorts, and hostels along this stretch, which is why Long Beach is so busy. As you get closer to where the Duong Dong River enters the sea near the city, the water gets a little greener, and the sand isn't as white.

My favorite spot on Long Beach is in front of the Sunset Beach Bar. It's the perfect beach to hang out for the day and work on your tan. It's busy without being crowded. You can hire deck chairs and order cocktails and food from the bar. Sunsets from the upper deck at Sunset Beach Bar are incredible!

Sao Beach is arguably one of the best beaches in Phu Quoc. Due to Sao Beach's popularity, it can get a little busy, but it's still a great place to hang out.

There are plenty of activities on Sao Beach, including paragliding, jet skiing, pedalo hire, and more. You can also take a picture of yourself on the swings in the water. Great for Instagram 😉.

Sao Beach is about 30 minutes south of the city center and 45 minutes from Ong Lang. It's a bit of a trek, so you might want to make a day of it. Consider visiting the cable car while you are in the south.

At the northern end of Phu Quoc, you'll find Starfish Beach, another popular tourist hotspot. Starfish Beach is beautiful, but not very big, so it gets crowded quickly.

The way to Starfish Beach is along treacherous dirt roads with many bumps and potholes. Still, it's good fun and worth the ride.

When you step onto the beach, you immediately see how Starfish Beach got its name. Vibrant red starfish gather in the shallow water all along the shore. It's tempting to pick them up, but it's best to leave these poor creatures to go about their day undisturbed.

A visit to the Trúc Lâm Hộ Quốc Zen Monastery is also a great option for incredible sunrises.
