South of Duong Dong City

Most of the action takes place north and south of Duong Dong city center located central west of Phu Quoc island. Đường Trần Hưng Đạo is the main road south of the Duong Dong river and where you'll find the majority of Phu Quoc hotels, hostels, and some homestays.

The central location of Duong Dong makes it easy to travel to the north and south on day trips to explore Phu Quoc Island. There are plenty of places to hire a scooter or book a tour.

The main road is also where you'll find many bars, restaurants, and shops. Đường Trần Hưng Đạo has a thriving nightlife with plenty of beach bars and clubs open till late.

While a fair bit is going on in Duong Dong, you can find some quiet places to stay. From the Long Beach Center south to where Đường Trần Hưng Đạo meets Cửa Lấp - Suối Mây you'll discover many beachfront resorts away from the bars and clubs. There are plenty of fantastic seafood restaurants on this stretch, so you can still find plenty of food options within walking distance of your hotel.

Duong Dong is also an excellent area for nomads who like to be close to the action. You can find plenty of Airbnbs offering long term rentals at affordable rates, and along Đường Trần Hưng Đạo road there are many coffee shops and cafes to work from during the day. Most coffee shops stay open until 10 or 11 pm. Find my best coffee shops in Duong Dong here.

Duong Dong City

Immediately to the north of the Duong Dong river lies Duong Dong City Center. The city is surprisingly big and bustling day and night. On the southern bank of the Duong Dong River is where you'll find the famous Phu Quoc Night Market.

There are some hotels and hostels in Duong Dong City, but be prepared for lots of noise. If you want to be close to the city, I would suggest staying in Khu 7 north of the Võ Văn Kiệt pier. Most of the accommodation in this area are homestays, which you can book through Airbnb.

Vinpearl Land is currently undergoing a massive upgrade with new amusement rides, rollercoasters, and a waterpark due to open in 2020.

The best place to stay in Ganh Dau is the Vinpearl Phu Quoc resort. The magnificent resort offers luxury accommodation, an 18-hole golf course, restaurants, bars, spas, pools, a private beach, kids play areas, and access to Vinpearl Land and Vinpearl Safari Park. Expect to pay upwards of $400 per night to stay at Vinpearl Phu Quoc resort.

North of Vinpearl Phu Quoc resort is mũi Gành Dầu where you'll find more affordable accommodation. Chuồng Víc is another beautiful part of the island where you'll find a handful of luxury Phu Quoc Hotels on the beach.

An Thoi

An Thoi is the southern region of Phu Quoc home to the famous Sao Beach and Phu Quoc Cable Car.

If you're looking for affordable long term accommodation on Phu Quoc, An Thoi is the best place to start your search. An Thoi is somewhat quiet in comparison to the rest of the island but still has an abundance of great restaurants and beautiful beaches.

There is a mix of hotels, hostels, and homestays in An Thoi, and the prices are generally lower than the northern parts of Phu Quoc.

Duong Bao is one of the most expensive areas to stay in Phu Quoc, but it's incredibly beautiful with luxurious amenities.
